About these terms
These terms apply to Rickard: family.rickard.co, Rickard Mail (mail.rickard.co), Rickard Calendar (calendar.rickard.co), Rickard Admin (admin.rickard.co), the Rickard Mail and Rickard Calendar apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac, mail and calendar access through mx.rickard.co, and legal.rickard.co (together, "the service").
The service is operated by Vantage Software Pty Ltd ("we", "us"). "You" means the holder of a Rickard account.
The Privacy Policy forms part of these terms. By using the service you accept these terms.
Accounts
- Accounts are by invitation only.
- An account belongs to one person. Do not share it or use another person's account.
- If you are under 18, a parent or guardian accepts these terms for you.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for activity on your account unless it was accessed through no fault of yours.
- Tell legal@rickard.co immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
- Email addresses are never reassigned.
Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- break any law, including the Spam Act 2003 (Cth);
- send spam, chain letters or bulk mail, or run a mailing list or business for others;
- phish, distribute malware, or impersonate anyone;
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone;
- access accounts or data without permission;
- secretly monitor anyone, including with open tracking;
- probe, overload or attack the service, or circumvent its security or limits;
- store or send unlawful material. Child abuse material is reported to police.
We may remove content, block sending, or suspend an account that breaches these terms.
Administrators
Administrators can create, change, suspend and delete accounts; reset passwords; end sessions; create and revoke app passwords; and manage shared inboxes. Administrator actions are recorded in the audit log.
There is no administrator function for reading the content of your mail, calendars or contacts. We access that content only at your request, to protect the service or the safety of others, or when required by law.
Your content
- You keep ownership of everything you send, receive and store.
- You grant us a licence to store, copy, process, transmit and display your content only as needed to provide the service to you and the people you share with.
- The licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies already delivered to others.
- Events on the shared Family calendar can be seen and edited by every account holder.
Connected accounts
You can connect Google, Microsoft, Apple iCloud and other CalDAV calendars and calendar links, and a mailbox at a previous mail host.
- Connect only accounts you are authorised to use. Their own terms apply.
- Sync is two-way where the provider allows it: changes and deletions made in Rickard are made at the provider, and the reverse.
- We are not responsible for third-party services.
- You can disconnect at any time. The Privacy Policy sets out what disconnecting removes.
Availability
- The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that mail will not be delayed or lost.
- Keep your own copies of important data. Mail can be downloaded with any IMAP client and calendars exported as .ics files.
- Features can change at any time.
Suspension and termination
- You can stop using the service at any time. To delete your account, email legal@rickard.co. Deletion is permanent. The Privacy Policy sets out what is deleted.
- We may suspend or close any account at any time, including one that breaches these terms or has been compromised.
Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot be excluded.
- To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranties and are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the service, including loss of data or mail and indirect or consequential loss.
- Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again.
- This does not limit liability for fraud or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
- Each version shows its version number, the date it was published and the date it takes effect, and lists what changed. Every earlier version remains available at its own address, for example legal.rickard.co/tos/2026-11-01.
- For a material change, we email every active account at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
- Other changes take effect when published.
- If you do not accept a change, stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia. The courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
